Wakesurfing in Vladivostok

VL is located by the sea. What does sea have? Right – waves. How do you use waves? Right – you go surfing. What if you can’t surf and there are now waves? Right – you go wakesurfing.

  1. You need zero skills in any water sports
  2. You don’t have to know how to swim
  3. Weather doesn’t matter (unless it’s a storm)
  4. It’s super safe and has close to zero potential of injuries.

So, there is this thing called “boat”. Boat picks you up at a certain location on Russkiy island called Novik Bay (search for Novik Country Club on Google Maps, it’s exactly there). It’s a special type of small tow boat that forms a small wave behind it. You put on a life vest and jump in a water. If water is not warm enough you also get a special diving suit. You also have a board and a rope. You hold a rope and boat slowly starts to go forward. Somehow you manage to glide on a board over the water holding a rope.

And that’s exactly when the most fun thing happens. Boat starts making a wave, you glide on it and you throw away a rope. Now you just surfing on a wave in a middle of an ocean. That’s a freaking awesome feeling and I strongly recommend you, dear reader, to try this. It’s not hard, full training is provided for anybody and pretty much everybody who tries it, starts to wakesurf from the first time. Also, every piece of equipment is provided, so just put on your swimming wear beforehand.

You can try wake-surfing any time from May until middle of October (warm diving suit is provided). In order to schedule a ride, you can go on IG page https://www.instagram.com/wakesurfvladivostok/ and use whatsapp number from this page. Or as always you can just send me an email on alvaev@gmail.com (note: I don’t take any commissions) and I will help you out. At the moment I type this, 1 hour of ride costs around 80 USD. For the first time, you will need about 1 hour for each person. And yo, check out my cool pics and videos:
